19 Jun Works on LondonMetric new Michelin distribution centre & further 141,121 unit in Stoke complete
Works have completed on LondonMetric’s distribution centre at Campbell Road, Stoke on-Trent. The site comprises 2 industrial distribution buildings with associated lorry yard, car parking facilities and soft landscaping.
Fronting the A500 with almost immediate access to both the A50 and M6, Campbell Road offers a strategic distribution warehouse location with exceptional national logistics capabilities.
The first of the units, let to Michelin Tyres on a 15-year lease, accommodates Michelin’s UK HGV tyre distribution facility. The second unit, built speculatively, offers potential occupiers a 141,121 sq ft logistics warehouse with parking spaces for 43 HGVs and 144 cars. Both units are built to BREEAM ‘Very Good’.
Our roles as Client Project Manager, Employer’s Agent and Tenant Manager involved the coordination of the asbestos removal and demolition of the original buildings through to the redevelopment of the site into current distribution units.
We are delighted to deliver with the Project Team this successful project, which has regenerated the site providing a commercially viable and sustainable industrial/ distribution offer.
Director, Paul Sharman, comments: “This is a fascinating scheme that required our technical experience and a close working partnership with our client and liaison with Michelin Tyres to meet their specific fit-out requirements. Now complete, the distribution unit offers space in a sought after location as well providing secure employment opportunities for the local economy.”
