About this Project:
Work has started on site to build a new Sofology store in Birmingham. Sharman Projects are delighted to be appointed as Project and Cost Manager, alongside architects R G Partnership, structural engineering Evolve, service engineer INsignis and Contractors Deeley Construction to build the new 10,000 sq ft store just south of the city centre.
The retail unit will be built on the land adjacent to the existing DFS store on John Kempe Way and work is also being completed to renovate the front of the existing DFS store by Deeley Construction.
Works are expected to be completed by September 2021, with the store opening to customers by the end of the year. The £1.8 million development will be sustainably built and is expected to achieve BREEAM Excellent status, the world’s leading sustainability accreditation.
Deeley Construction will be using responsibly sourced sustainable materials during the build, and will also be installing photovoltaic panels on the roof to generate energy, with electric vehicle charging points in the car park too.
