About This Project

Located on a well-established commuter route approximately 4km to the north of Leicester, the previously unoccupied site has been regenerated into an Aldi food store with associated parking facilities and soft landscaping.

We were appointed as Fund Project Manager to oversee the works for LondonMetric Property Plc. The project was undertaken by Hinton Properties with the Aldi Stores design by STOAS Architects and completed in August 2016.

We undertook technical reviews on all elements of the works and costs alongside working with the onsite team to monitor the construction works.

The new Aldi benefits residents in Leicester and the surrounding areas creating approximately 40 new jobs, in addition to those created through construction and supply chain opportunities. Over 150 people queued ahead of the 8am opening, showing the popularity within the community for the new store.

We are pleased to deliver with the Project Team this successful project, which has regenerated the vacant site providing this commercially viable and sustainable retail offer.

Key Facts:

  • Circa 0.52 hectares, previously vacant site.
  • Scheme developed by Hinton Properties, pre-let to Aldi Stores.
